Kuba Oms is a pro. Flat out. The man has been making music for well over a decade, and like any musician who’s been around that long, has had his ups and downs. The good news here is Oms is a success story. Battling everything from heartbreak to drug addiction, the past decade has been an eventful one. Needless to say, a clean Oms is very excited about the present. “I feel blessed actually. 10 years ago I had every major label in the US on our case down in New York. I was a different ...more...

The rolling ball of energy known as Kuba Oms sometimes looks like he can barely be contained within his own skin. Over a small bucket of soup and a trio of tiny hamburgers, he talks about music, fans, and how unfortunate polka music is at weddings. “We just shot a video down in LA,” says Oms, ladling soup into his mouth. Remember when indie was a word used sparingly in the music industry, downloading for free was something only sci-fi hackers did, and record companies had enough money to throw around for advances? But like so many other aspiring rock stars before him, Oms couldn’t wait for fame and fortune to start his downward spiral of self-destruction. He kick-start...more...
